This one-hour long documentary tells the story of another Santa Barbara oil spill, this time off Gaviota’s coast in 2015. The bursting of Plains All American Pipeline, a relatively new pipeline with state-of-the-art technology, spilled 140,000 gallons of crude oil, sending toxic fumes in the air and killing sea life as the Coast Guard and the oil industry tried to respond. Gaviota’s spill calls back to the Santa Barbara oil spill of 1969, while posing questions about a fossil free future.
